All players 8 through 12, as well as any younger player requesting to play in our competitive devision will be requir3ed to attend a mandatory evaluation at North Hunterdon High School on Sunday, January 5, 2020.  Evaluations will be from approximately 9-3pm and you showl plan on your child needing 30 mins of time to complete their evaluation.

Evaluations will take place on Sunday January 5, 2020 at:

North Hunterdon High School – Gymnasium

1441 NJ-31

Annandale, NJ 08801

Below you will find the time schedule and supplementary information necessary for the evaluations. In an effort to avoid long lines, please arrive within your designated time slot. Each player should bring a mitt, bat and helmet. Please do NOT wear cleats.

Registration - Upon arrival, please check in at the registration desk and receive your Evaluation ID Numbers to be applied to each player’s chest and back.

Uniforms - After checking in, sample uniforms will be available to verify the sizes provided during registration.

Evaluation - Each player will be individually escorted into the gymnasium by a volunteer. The only people permitted in the gymnasium are the players being evaluated, the evaluators, volunteers and prospective managers. Please note, parents will not be allowed in to watch the evaluations. While we understand that many managers will be committed to spending several hours at the evaluations, we STRONGLY DISCOURAGE any children who are not being evaluated from being inside the facility. Please make the necessary arrangements in advance of evaluation day.

Each evaluation will consist of a brief warm-up followed by 3 stations:

1.       Pitching (AAA & Majors) – Each player will be evaluated based on a pitching mechanics score as well as pitch speed

2.       Fielding – Each player will be given a set amount of ground balls and pop-ups.

3.       Hitting – Players will be evaluated based on hitting mechanics.

Players ages 4, 5, and 6 ARE NOT REQUIRED/DO NOT NEED to attend the evaluation.

7 Year old players –  It is not mandatory for 7 year old players to attend the evaluations. However, if you would like your child to have a chance to “play up” in the AA Baseball Division, then your child MUST attend. Each year, a few select 7 year old players are afforded the chance to play in the AA Division. We leave it up to the parent if you would like your child to be considered for the AA Division. Keep in mind, the AA Division consists of 8 and 9 year-old players. Please be advised, merely attending the evaluations does not guarantee your child a spot in AA. If you are a parent of a child who is under the age of 7 (their baseball age) and would like to have your child participate in this evaluation you are similarly welcome to come but please note the composition of the AA division as outlined above.

All players must be evaluated – there are no exceptions. This includes manager’s children. The rating a player receives at the evaluationis used by the league for multiple reasons and therefore ALL players are to be evaluated.

We understand players have other commitments. If you have a previous commitment during your designated time slot, please come as near to your time slot as possible. We want your child being evaluated along with other players in the same age category. If you absolutely cannot attend, you must notify us in advance at

Managers Attendance – Managers will be notified of selections no later than Friday January 3rd. If you are selected to be a manager, your attendance at the evaluations is mandatory

We are pleased to announce that registration for our 2020 Spring North Hunterdon Youth Baseball season for children age 4 through 12 is now open! NHYB is a chartered organization and part of the Cal Ripken national organization.   Our Rookie and A divisions include outside professional coaching resources.  A & AA divisions play with state-of-the-art pitching machines to help develop our younger players and assist with the pace of the game.  New in 2020, we are expanding our field presence and are revamping Foran Field.  This complex will be the third NHYB complex complimenting Jericho and Stadium 31 and will be the home for our Rookie & A divisions along with providing additional fields for our other teams to practice.

Our registration period will close on January 2, 2020.   We ask that all children are registered prior to this deadline so the league can ensure ample time to form the teams and to secure uniforms before the season begins.

All players 8 through 12, as well as any younger player requesting to play in our competitive division will be required to attend a mandatory evaluation at North Hunterdon High School on Sunday January 5, 2020. Evaluations will be from approximately 9-3pm and you should plan on your child needing 30 minutes of time to complete their evaluation. Details will follow via email and will also be posted on the NHYB website
